Accelerometers for Power Generation Applications: IMI Sensors offers a variety of accelerometers for predictive maintenance applications. Its high temperature accelerometers with internal electronics (ICP) have the best temperature capability of any design on the market today. The high temperature ICP accelerometers are capable of withstanding continuous temperatures of 325F (162C). For applications that exceed those temperatures, IMI Sensors has a variety of charge accelerometers with integral ICP amplifier that can operate at 900F (482C) and charge mode accelerometers that can operate at 1200F (649C). Versions are available for potentially-explosive environments. Charge amplifiers are available to allow for integration of the signal into standard data acquisition equipment.
Pressure Sensors for Power Generation Applications: IMI Sensors produces a wide range of pressure sensors for monitoring of acoustic and heat release pressure oscillations in lean burn or dry low NOx combustors. The piezoelectric sensors can detect and measure dynamic pressure phenomena in the presence of high static pressures up to 2000 psi. Remote, close-coupled and on-turbine sensors are available, with the on-turbine sensors available for extreme heat environments up to 1200F (649C). Charge amplifiers are available to allow for integration of the signal into standard data acquisition equipment.
Switches for Power Generation Applications: IMI Sensors offers mechanical, electronic and USB-programmable smart switches for monitoring vibration is auxiliary power generation equipment such as cooling towers. A vibration switch can protect critical machinery from costly destructive failure by initiating an alarm or shutdown when excessive vibration of the machinery is detected.
Reciprocating Machinery Protector for Power Generation Applications: The Reciprocating Machinery Protector (RMP) detects faults and mechanical looseness in reciprocating machinery. The sensor improves on existing impact monitoring technology by providing continuous trending data and two threshold levels. The RMP is field-programmable with the use of computer software in which the user can set threshold levels and weighting factors. Earth Fault Resistance Monitoring for Power Generation Applications: Earth Fault Resistance Monitor (EFREM) is a technology that provides continuous wireless monitoring of insulation fault resistance and field voltage on brushless exciter generator/motor field windings, combining advanced ground fault measurement techniques with the latest innovations in digital telemetry.
Calibration Services for Power Generation Applications: IMI Sensors not only calibrate every new sensor before it leaves the building, but also offers after-market recalibration services for both its own sensors as well as competitors' sensors.
